does cadence have any plans to enhance the theiving command so it becomes a useful tool on high speed boards?

needs to be able to theive all layers at once,also void around controlled impedence traces on adjacent layers

needs a delete command for theiving pads.

    I completely agree! Thieving is such an unnecessary pain!

    Here are CCRs I've submitted for thieving enhancements:
    884918 Allow rectangular selection to create thieving areas.
    884677 Can thieving be easier to add? All layers add.
    884934 delete/re-create the thieving using buttons in the Options tab.
    I hope the titles are clear about the requested functioanlity - ask me if you have questions. If any of these CCRs are enhancements you'd like as well, file another SR requesting the AE to pile on another request for the same CCR. The more customers asking for a feature, the higher priority the feature becomes, one would think.

    For deleting all elements created during a thieving operation, there's already a solution. All the thieving vias are part of a group, and you can delete the entire group all in one go.
  • FYI, the following 2 CCRs are scheduled to be fixed in SPB 16.6. Unfortunately, I'm told they won't be addressed in a 16.5 ISR (at least not with just me asking for these enhancements).
