Allegro 'show measure' units

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to using Allegro for PCB design, and I was wondering what units are quoted by the 'show measure' command. The numbers in the pop-up window display no units, but I'm curious as to how to figure out the length (preferably in mils) of traces on my PCB. Thanks.

    Hi gvleming, welcome!

The DB units are shown in the Design tab of the Design Parameter Editor form (Setup > Design Parameters).

If your DB is already in mils, finding the length of a trace is easy, using Show Element (as you've discovered). Show Element for a Cline (connect line) will display the length, etch length of the entire net, and Manhattan length of the net.

     Hi,

     Can anybody answer,

Show measure displays the following details: (Tool: Allegro PCB Editor 16.3)

What is the difference between each term? what is Manhattan Dist?

    Dist =

    Total Dist =

     Manhattan Dist =             Dx =            Dy =
No air gap, ineligible element: Grid Point .

    Thanks,

    rinj

    Hi rinj,

Hit F1 when in "show measure" mode; the Cadence Help page for this command should answer your questions.
