Extracting Text

Hello –
Any way to extract text from a design to an ASCII Text Editor (Wordpad, Notepad, etc)  I’m thinking here about fabrication / assembly notes that appear on fab / assy dwg.
I know how to drop a text file into a design but not how to extract text from the design.
Thanks in advance for the help.

     I am not sure there may be some other methods to copy the text .simple way is

    In idle mode select text in find tab .click on the sentence that you want to copy  go to text edit  one pop up window will come from there u can copy the text .

     If you have the ability to do some text parsing in something more powerful than Wordpad or Notepad, you could export the notes to a .CLP file and then edit it.  The text you want will look similar to this:

     (_clpInitTextOrientation _clp_text_orient "LEFT" nil _clp_cinfo->f_rotation + 0.000 "6" )
    _clp_dbid = (_clpDBCreateText "MIN 0.0007\" TO BE PLATED OVER ON SURFACE. VIA-IN-PAD MUST INCLUDE WRAP REQUIREMENTS PER IPC-6012B"
        (_clpAdjustPt -1909:-1924.82 _clp_cinfo)  _clp_text_orient
        "DRAWING FORMAT/FAB" _clp_sym)

     For me it is not too much of a problem to do this in emacs.  You just create a macro that goes to each line and removes the common elements.  I am sure other editors have good ways to do this.  OR, you could just work your mouse in wordpad.

     I bet this approach will be quicker than going line by line, depending on your text editing skills.

    I've attached a very basic skill file for exporting text.  See if this is what you're looking for.
