I need to check distance between "SILKSCREEN" - TEXT and Assembly, and i don't want to make mesurement from bBox to bBox.

Maybe someone knows how to convert TEXT object to SHAPE?

See attached function to draw text.

You might also like to consider using my autosilk utility that I have uploaded here at various times. The latest release is 8.23.

Hi Dave! Thank you very much for quick response, but your function isn't the exat solution for my problem.

I want to choose a component and check the "Air Gap" between its "RefDes/Silkscreen_Top" and "Package Geometry/Assembly_Top". The only measure result i get is "air gap" between some point on "Package Geometry/Assembly_Top" shape and xy point of the text object.

i want to create a function which will check "RefDes/Silkscreen_Top" to "Package Geometry/Assembly_Top" shape  vicinity violation.

    Thank you in advance,.

    Hi,

I do understand what you are trying to do. By creating shapes from the text you should be able to use the axlAirGap command to then measure between the newly created shapes and the assembly shape of the component you select. It's not a huge amount of programming and the code I posted should help you.

There's a Skill forum here where this question would be better placed. Please post again there and I'll give you some clues.
