 Hello folks,

Is there a way to obtain the version number of Design Entry Hdl (e.g. 16.5) by a SKill command ?

Thanks in advance,

I suggest querying the CADENCE_VERSION environment variable (using getShellEnvVar).

    Hello,

My Windows system does not have this environment variable. Also I installed version 16.3 and 16.5. If there is a environment variable CADENCE_VERSION which version will it return ? 16.3 or 16.5 ?

So I do not think that this is the ideal solution for my problem, correct me if I am wrong.

    Regards,

    ArgeJtag

Open Allegro and type "set" in the command window. I see a variable"cdsversion" that has the version in it.

Use axlGetVariable to get it or any other useful looking variable.

Actually Dave's method should work; look for CDSROOT if CDS_VERSION doesn't exist.

Try this if you are still having problems:

    cnGetMsgInfo(cnSendCommand(handle, "show release"))
