How to signify A and B parts in composite symbol

Hi,

I have a symbol on my mainboard, which represents a daughter board with two different board-to-board connectors (I did this so I could move the two connectors, and the daugher board outline, as a unit).  The symbol is implemented by grouping two sets of pads for each connector but they had to be numbered sequentially.  The first connector is numbered 1 to 10 and the second is numbered 11 to 13.  How can I specify, say J1A and J1B for each of these connectors, if possible?  When I try to do this (on the refdes silkscreen layer), and save my symbol, Allegro complains with:
Create symbol started.

WARNING(SPMHA1-299): Create symbol multiple text lines are not supported on a single component type subclass.
WARNING(SPMHA1-299): Create symbol multiple text lines are not supported on a single component type subclass.

ERROR(SPMHA1-291): Create symbol has been aborted.
I am using OrCAD PCB Designer, version 16.3, latest patches.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Allan

I don't think the tool can understand multiple refdes tags for what it thinks is a single component. Since they are actually two separately placed components from a manufacturing standpoint, my preference is to manage them separately, and thus control the part relationship at the board level. You could build in alignment aid in both symbols to make moving them around at the board level easier. Of course their is nothing from keeping from assigning these parts any refdes you wanted, all be it manually. But my understanding is that you want the tool to manage the refdes assignment automatically which to my knowledge is not possible.
