Hi When you Import from Pads you need to specify a layer mapping file, just specify One that does not exist or is empty to get a gui for creating this.
The layer mapping tell what layers in Pads translates into what subclasses in PCB Editor. Or more simply, just use the Pads_in file from the installation directory
You Can translate Pads board files that contains footprint (decals) amongst other information. After translation The footprint Can be exported using file-export-libraries
    Best regards

     Hi!

thanks for your prompt response.im a new user of allegro, before we are using PADS

we wanted to convert all footprints from PADS to allegro so we can use it for our upcoming designs

i tried to use the mbs2lib to convert footprints but it is not translating any symbol.in this mbs2lib, there is an

optional scheme that has this Layer Map, is this where i need to specify a layer mapping file?how?

i tried to use the PADS_in file but im not sure how to used this and from the output of this file how can I translate the PADS footprint to Allegro?

Can you give me a detailed process how to do this??

Thank you very much for the help!

    Best regards!!
