how to reuse old project with a new name

 Hello,

if I have a completed PCB design in Allegro Design HDL, with schematic and board layout. the project name is proj1, and design name is board1.

is there an easy way to duplicate the project with different name, for example proj2, and design mame to board2.

I know that use archive tool, can easily duplicate a whole project safely, but it will keep the old name.

thank you and appreciate you help.

     Hi, try the following steps

    1) Rename proj1.cpm to proj2.cpm.  Rename worklib/board1 to worklib/board2.

    2) Edit proj2.cpm and cds.lib with a text editor and replace proj1 with proj2, and board1 with board2.

    3) Open the proj2.cpm with Project Manager and launch DEHDL.  You should see board2.sch.1.1.  Do File->Write Hierarchy to force a save on all pages using the new design name board2.

Hmm ... This "may" work, but it can cause issues with the Packager files (canonical paths) and opf file content.

To simply and insure all files will be in sync, I would suggest that you run the Copyproject wizard (from the File menu in Project Manager) after you open the original project. Just walk through the prompts.
