How to Editing a Circle Line

Hi,

As i am really new to Cadence, Maybe this is a stupid question but i really hope someone can teach me.

Example now i added a circle as my board outline, with a redius of 100mils, can i know how can i edit the circle radius to 200mils or other number of radius that i want without delete it and make a now outline?

And now i have make the circle center as X Y = (0, 0), how can i move the circle center point to a specific X Y i want??

>>>Because if i highlight the circle > Line > move, the reference point will not be the point i want, in another way is how can i choose a specific reference point so that i can move the component/outline to a X Y point that i want for example?<<<

I have tried to look into property edit, but i think that is only edit the name of it but not the radius.

many thanks.

Regards,

HC Tneh

    HC,

PCB Editor does not allow a circular shape to be atlered at this time.  What you can do is use the Edit/Z-copy command.  Then in the Options window select BOARD GEOMETRY...OUTLINE.  Select the Expand button and enter your offset.  Select the item to copy.

To move the circle, select the move icon.  In the Find window select Shape.  In the Options window change the Point to Body Center and enter in the X Y position.

    Hi KEN13,

Totally understand your advice, have tried it and get what i wanted to,

But can i ask, how about rectangle? example now my board outline have to be rectangle, with either 2 corner or 4corner must be 45degree, can i know how can i make all those 2 or 4 corners accuracy to 45degree with same lenght?

     Thanks.

Try Manufacturing>Chamfer give the live length of chamfered line and click on the both lines simultaneously it will bend the board edge to 45 degrees.

    Tanveer,

I tried what you suggested but it did not work?  Once I selected Manufacture/drafting/chamfer my find filter changed from shape to other segs?  What am I missing?

In the meantime...HC.  A second option is to select SHAPE/EDIT BOUNDRY select the board outline and follow the prompts in the command box.  If you want to have a round corner select Arc in the Segment Type/Type box in the options window.

The board outline must be lines and not a rectangle. If they are individual lines you can select item 1 then item 2 and the chamfer will be added. Make sure you either specify one distance plus angle or both distances no angle.
