You will find a sample SDT.CFG file in the "tools\capture\samples" directory of the installation. Make a copy of the sample and set the PLIB to the path for the original DOS LIB files ans set the "LIB=" entries to the names of the LIB files used by the design. The paths and filenames must be 8.3 (DOS) format. You MUST have the LIB files used by the design, the SCH files just contain the wires and references to the symbol names required. The libraries will be translated and the parts placed when the schematic files are translated. The SDT.CFG indicates where the LIB files are and which LIB files to use. (The original DOS design environment will have an SDT.CFG and all the LIB files required since the translation was intended to be run from within it)

Do you have access to SDT.CFG?  If yes, then put this file in the same location as your design.

    Hi,

I alaso have the same problem in Altium to Orcad export!.. I followed your instructions. But, I received below Error messages:

         *** Translating Page 'F:\ORCAD PROJECTS\TEST1\FPGA2.SCH' ***

    Converting 16-bit schematic 'F:\ORCAD PROJECTS\TEST1\FPGA2.SCH' to 32-bit schematic 'C:\USERS\M\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP\FPGA2.SCH'...

    Errors encountered during conversion. Reason:

    Corrupt File:F:\ORCAD PROJECTS\TEST1\FPGA2.SCH,File Size:589. Bytes Requested to Read:701

    ERROR(ORCAP-21073): Converting SDT/IV schematic to SDT/386+ failed.

    WARNING(ORCAP-21005): Translation of page 'F:\ORCAD PROJECTS\TEST1\FPGA2.SCH' failed.

    ERROR(ORCAP-21102): Translation failed.

    ERROR(ORCAP-21103): Translation Notice.

Error(s) encountered. Please check the Session Log.

I am wondering how and when I can finally export a schematic fiel to Orcad? You may know that normally older designes were drawn in Altium. Now, I need to convert them to Orcad.

I would appreciate any help on this issue,

    Hossein
