If it's a hole (like a fixing hole) use Place - Manually) then change the drop down list from "components by refdes" to "mechnical symbols" there is a list of some mechnical symbols there. If you need to make any new ones use File - New - Mechancial symbol.

If it's just a via then you need to add a via the same way you would when routing (Route - Connect) then where you want the via just double click. But this will want to add a via based on the Default rule set in Constraint Manager. This via will not be associated to a net though so if you need to do that select the net first before double clicking.... I suggest you have a look at <your_install_dir\doc\flowtut\flowtut.pdf) page 91 onwards which describes routing.

    Hi steve,

Thanks for advice, will read the pdf file for more understanding.

But a quick question, my allegro software have already link to my library, there is already have a several "xxx.pad" file link to my BRD layout.

when i click on Tool>Padstack>modify design padstack or library padstack, the ready Via pad is there. but i have no idea how to manually place it. I have check "place manually> and check all the symbol", there are no ".pad" file there.
