I have a .CAD a customer sent me. It appears to be a cadence file. I was thinking it was a layout but I can't open it. Can someone tell me what kind of files this is.

.cad extensions are usually a ASCII file that was created from extracting data from an Allegro .brd layout using a Fabmaster utility (cdc2fab.exe).It's usually a composite file made up from the data created by 9 extract routines..

They cannot be opend by Allegro. PCB Editor.
