How do you adjust the font size in Allegro dialogs?

I'm using Allegro on Linux and I'me having trouble adjusting the font size.

    Setup>User Preferences>UI>Fonts, fontsize, set a larger negative number for a larger font, as described in the help. -12 is the default, using -20 seems to make things in the dialogs quite a bit larger.

    Well, I saw this tool mentioned for bitmaps. I would like to use TT fonts as shapes or some other vector graphics like lines+arcs.
