How do I cut a rectangular slot in my PCB (rounded corners ok)

I'm using OrCAD PCB Editor version 16.3. I know how to put a polygon on the "Board Geometry / Outline" layer, and my PCB house will router the outside edge of my board to that shape. However, now I need them to router a slot in the middle of the board. How do I define that? I tried putting a void in the outline rectangle, but the program doesn't let me do that. I must have to add an object on some other layer (NC*?), then be sure to output that with my gerbers. (The slot, by the way, is 0.420" x 0.740".) But how? Thanks very much

You could define a mechanical symbol that has a slot as a padstack that has the dimensions you needed and placed at the correct origin. You'd then just need to include an ncroute file (Manufacture >NC >NC Route menu selections) in your output. When creating the drill legend theslot will be added as well.

    Dr.

I have multiple slots and cut outs in some of the boards I layout.  I use the Board Geometry/Assemble_Detail to show all the routes.  I draw the line with the same width as the router size, which I specify, usually 3.32"dia.  I also include a table which gives the x,y coordinates for each point from the start of the route to the end.  I also specify the route is non-plated.
