Board edge fillet - compound radius on board edge

Is it possible to add an edge fillet (rounded corner) between a radius and a straight edge in Allegro? I'm working with a board that has a somewhat complicated shape - a large radius edge that blends into straight edges with a smaller radius (or fillet). Is it possible to use a tool within Allegro to blend (or fillet) the large radius into the straight edge or do I have to use another application to create my board edge?

    Hello,

The only functionality to radius corners is under Manufacture > Dimension/Draft > Fillet.   This will only form a fillet between two line segments but not between an existing radius (fillet) and a line segment.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks Mike - I was hoping someone had a trick to circumvent this limitation within Allegro. Or at the very least raise awareness so that perhaps this functionality is added in a future release of Allegro. Many of the boards I work on have complex edges and having to switch to another software package to create and modify the PCB outline is cumbersome.

I was going to suggest to draw lines and switch over to ARC Mode to do a blend but it isn’t an exact science – will drive you crazy.   Something to drive you equally crazy is if you use a 3 point arc ( Add > 3pt arc).  The both can sort of do the job but it is much easier to a mechanical package to draw something up quickly.

Any other tricks out there that folks are using with these types of outlines.

    Good luck,
