Capture: Copy and Paste Page not working?

Orcad Capture 16.5 S0007

I am trying to copy a page from an OrCAD Capture schematic and paste it into a new schematic.  It doesn't seem to be working as I would expect, so I am hoping somebody can providea clue.

Here are the steps I am taking:

  • Open the source schematic and the destination schematic in Capture.
  • In the source schematic:
    • Renumber the schematic so the reference designator numbers are reset to "?"
    • In the project manager, right-click on the source page and select "Copy"
  •  In thedestination schematic:
    • Select the schematic folder in the project manager, right-click and select paste.

At this point, I would expect to see the page pasted into the destination schematic with the "?" reference designators, ready to renumber so the parts are added to the existing board.  Instead, I get the page with the original reference designators that were renumbered before the copy/paste.

How do I get this to work???
