Access database and Windows 7 problem

Lock2002
Lock2002 over 13 years ago
I am currently using a Microsoft Access database (Office 2007) and Capture 16.5. We just recently switched to Windows 7. I was able to use my previous configuration file and everything worked fine, however if I attempt to create a new configuration file, microsoft access database is not listed in the options.

I setup my OBDC drivers in 32-bit by using this program: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

I set it up under "User DSN".

Access is still not an option in the database configuration setup.

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks

You probably need to post this on a Microsoft forum since this looks more like a Windows 7 installation issue.

With all 16.5products installed, I have User DSNs for BenchAccess1650, BenchAccess165D, magdes1650 and magdes165D which were added by the product installation.

When I look in the SysWOW64 directory, there is an ODBCCONF.RSP file, I can open this with a text editor and this looks to be a list of available datasource drivers and the Access drivers reference odbcjt32.dll which would seem to tie in with the previous "Jet" drivers that were used for Microsoft Office datasources. It might be possible to have a custom Windows 7 installation that does not have the drivers for the Microsoft Office datasources but my "just click Next" Windows 7 installations all have the drivers present from the off. (There is an odbcconf.exe that might help but I would hold off on running that until you can locate some documentation for it)

We just had this problem.  We downloaded the latest hotfix and it fixed the issue.

We installed the latest hotfix and it still does not work.

Is there anyone using a 64-bit machine with Windows 7, Design Entry CIS 16.5 and Microsoft Access database sucessfully?

You need to use proper version of ODBC driver invoked from SysWow64 directory - odbcad32.exe
