Cad Engineer over 13 years ago
Dear all,

While doing netlist i am getting this ERROR

5 Error   [ALG0014] Conflicting values of part name found on different sections of "U3".
Conflicting values: MC33274_9_SOIC14_MC33274 & MC33274_8_SOIC14_MC33274
Property values of "Device","PCB FootPrint", "Class" and "Value" should be identical
on all sections of the part.

how to solve this error

Thanks and Regards,

U3 is a multi-section part, you have edited the Part in the schematic, set the symbol from "_8" to "_9" and not updated all of the sections when you updated the part changes. You will need to go to the Design Cache, copy the "_9" version from the Design Cache to a (new) library and then use Replace Cache to replace the "_8" symbol in the Design Cache with the "_9" version from the (new) library. Once all the sections have the same synbol name, you will be able to generate the netist.

Hi Oldmouldy, I have made the same mistake, being new to Capture. I have versions 5 and 7 of a 12 part symbol in the cache.

The problem I have is how to copy to a new library - I can see the copy menu item for the cached part but I don't know how to create a the new library presuming there is then a paste option. Any help here would be appreciated, Jim O'Mahony

To answer my own question : using file>new library to create a new library1 and used drag and drop to put the newer symbol in it. I then did replace cache on the older symbol and pointed to the copy. This worked fine and the design netlisted ok. The only fly in the ointment was that I still had two symbols in the cache with one pointing to my temporary library. To solve this I did update cache on both symbols and pointed them both to the original Library. Then I went into the design and changed my symbol again but did an update all on saving. Works fine now. Its all good practice I suppose...
