but when i convert into dxf and view the dxf file all the bottom placed components are appering in top view in the dxf viewer..am i missing some settings during conversion ?

When you write out of Allegro in .DXF format you need a layer conversion file. Maybe the conversion file was incorrect when you ran the Export DXF command.  I would check that first.

Can you tell me what version of 16.5 you are using?  Go to Help>About and respond with the line that looks like the following:

    16.5 S023(v16-5-13BE) [5/29/2012]i86

Works for me with S019 and S023

I would also try just turning on just those assembly layers etc. for the bottom that you are interested in and see if that goes through. Turn all other layers off.  I do know that there were some issues with DXF so it may be the version you are useing.  You may need an update or Hotfix for your current version.

    MAAC,

I am viewing the .dxf file with Intellicad 4 which use to be given free with Cadence and I cannot see the bottom assembly data in your file either.  If you can see the assembly data in Cadence you should see it in the dxf file.  What switches are you setting in the Export DXF dialog form?
