Footprint of part from library

Hi,

I'm adding new parts from library in to schamtic, and in definition it is as 0603 or 1206 resistors, but all they have same footprint describet in properties "smdres".

I know that i can enter the name that I want for footprint... but question is how to find right footprint for right part? Let say i want to get 0603 footprint, where i can find it in library?

If you have CIS option you can easily find parts with specified footprints.

    Hi,

Can You exactly tell how to do that?

In attached picture You can see, that I select 2 different size resistors, but both of them using the same footprint “smdres” and in PCB layout (Allegro) they are same size.

    Or I’m doing something wrong?

PCB Editor (allegro) uses  the "PCB Footprint" cell.

Both resistor has "smdres" footprint. This is the reason why you have the same footprint.

If you have used OrCAD layout then they had different size because that uses "Layout PCB Footprint" cell.

solution: modify the "PCB Footprint" cell to what you want

    Ok...

    I'm using allegro.

Next question would be if there is default librarys for thses SMD parts like 0603, 1208 etc. ? i can't find any or there is kind of systems for naming footprints.
