Import DXF in OrCAD Layout Plus 16.2.0

 Hi,

I want to import a board outline from a DXF-file. I get the DXF-file imported when I do:

"File"->"Import"->"DXF to Layout" in the OrCADLayout, select the DXF to import and press "Translate".

But it is in wrong scale. I tried using both inch and mm technology file, but the scale is correct with neither.

Earlier I  been using the "Interact" tool in the "DXF to MAX" window (same window that has the "Translate" button).

So I select the DXF I want to use, choose the metric Technology file and click "Interact".

OrCAD Visual CADD 2.0 starts.

I do:

"Right mouse click"->"Selection"->"Right mouse click"->"Select By"->"Adjoining"->"Click on the board outline to select it"

Now all the instructions I find by searching on Google tells me to press the OrCAD button on the toolbar. But there is no OrCAD button. I have been checking all buttons and menues, and I cant find anything similar or anything that gets me over to the "Translate Selection" window so that I can set the scale and which layers to put it on.

Please help me understand how this is ment to be done.

BR,

Anders Engman

If the scaling really is wrong, get a copy of the maxdxf.ini file from the installation, take a look inside it and change the scaling factors as required, save the modified file and then run the DXF import referencing the new maxdxf.ini file. The DXF import method that does not use the "very old" VCADD method is a later development - it's unlikely that the VCADD method would fix your scaling issue.

Problem kind of solved. The button just don't exist on my computer. My colleges computer has the missing button and there we could do the import with hes computer. So we could set the scale there to mm. Apperantly there was a doubble conversion from inch if this one was not also set to mm.
