what is the difference between the Orcad 16.5 to Allegro PerformanceOption - L V16.5?

are the designs convertible from Orcad to Allegro and vice versa? Since both are cadence softwares.

Thank you!

Yes the are effectively the same. Same database, libraries etc. You can open Allegro files in OrCAD and vice versa. OrCAD PCB Editor is a cut down version of Allegro PCB Designer. Since 16.5 there is no longer L, Performance, XL. The Allegro PCB Designer is effectively Allegro L + Performance plus other bits from XL. There are add on's called Miniturization, High Speed, RF.

OrCAD PCB Editor has two types, Professional and Standard. Standard has no auto-router, no electrcial constraints, Professional has auto-router, diff pairs, total etch length, constraint regions. Here's a comparsion chart

    Hi

Unfortunately there is no way to convert Zuken files without third party software.

    Best regards

    Ole

No. You used to be able to translate Cadstar (CDI) to OrCAD Layout (max) which was the old PCB tool. It's not avaliable now unles you have an install of 16.2 or older. The process would be Cadstar CDI to MAX then MAX to Allegro BRD.
