How to remove layers from existing stack-up?

Hello,

I am trying to create several templates 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 layers boards.  The orriginal board I started out with had an eight layer stack-up.   The template is entirely clear and I blew away the netlist by importing a blank schematic so all is good, however when I try to remove a layer from the stack-up Allegro reports " You cannot remove a layer containing etch."  I dont understand this as there is no etch.  Can any one tell me how to remove a layer? or explain the reason for this error report?  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Clint

     Hi Clint,

some things that can prevent of removing an etch layer:

    - Used in a artwork definition

    - Layer specific KEEP-out's present (exemple: a route keepout)

    - Database padstack with definition on this layer.

-... several others, you have to find it

Do you run dbdoctor on your brd?
