Minimum Etch Technique

I am a newbie PCB designer, and I have run across the phrase "use minimum etch technique" in a datasheet.  I tried googling it, but to no avail.  Can someone explain what this means?

Thanks!

Wow, not a newbie here and this phrase eludes me as well. Perhaps they mean get to point B from point A with the most direct route?

Not necessarily a requirement in most circumstances.  If you gave us more to work with you might get a better answer :)
