Importing DXF files

Greetings,

I've done this a million times but in version 16.5 S025, it doesn't seem to cooperate. I'm bring in a file created from SolidWorks and I can import to a file but everything seems to be dead. I have some artifacts that I can't get rid of and I have no 0,0 info. The only thing I can do is eliminate some stray line segments.Anyone have any experience with this? I've attached a pict to what I have. Thanks.

    Are you using the same units, metrics or imperials ?

     I have known some DXF imports do not work from my old Layout 15.7 days. If trying to import a board outline, the line had to be a closed polyline or it would fail to import. Also, dimensions had to be exploded first before importing. Here, the lines would import in the wrong positions and you could not change them.

    • We can also try to import the IPF file,for this
    • first set perticular UNIT in boardfile
    • import the dxf file,while importing set the UNIT same as in ur board file
    • select the dxf file which you want import to your Board
    • Also select Layer convension file
    • Click on EDIT/VIEW LAYERS
    • In that window enable Select All and also select reuired  CLASS and SUBCLASS.  Eg: Class:Board Geometry  S.class:Dimension, then IMPORT the dxf.
    • After Importing SAVE that file
    • Then FILE.....>EXPORT.........>IPF
    • Now select the board for which u want to import IPF file
    • After that FILE------>IMPORT ----->IPF.
    • While importing ENABLE Class:Board Geometry  S.class:Dimension.

    Thanks everyone but I had figured my problem out moments after sending post. THe big hint was if you look at the pict you see the origin, it was line artifacts.
