I cannot see my board outline template file when I load it into layout. I created it from a dxf file. What am I doing wrong?

Based on a one-line detail of the issue, I would say that the DXF is not a closed shape, or has overlapping boundary lines, and cannot be imported directly into the Board Geometry / Outline. Try using a destination like Board Geometry / Assembly Detail which is a lot more tolerant of what is imported and check the log file from the import. You could try a Shape>Compose Shape from Board Geometry / Assembly Detail to Board Geometry / Outline, that will likely still fail but you should see the conversion mesages in the command window.

Failing that, provide a lot more detail about what you are trying to do and the steps you have taken.

I am using Orcad Layout 9.0. The dxf was first put into Vcadd and translated from there to a max file. When opened in layout I saved the file as a template. I could see all with the max file.
