ODB export fails, "brd2odb.log does not exist."

 I am new to Allegro. I made a simple change to a board silkscreen. I can successfully export the placement and the IPC but when I export the ODB data I get the error message:

"Allegro PCB Design XL"

'C;/USERDATA/.../ brd2odb.log' does not exist

How can I resolve this error?

Do I need to put my .brd file in a directory in the root ('C:\') directory?

    Hi,

    you need to download the ODB++ for windows (depending on your OS) from Valor.com
    (file name :cadif2odb_setup_v820.exe_)
    install it and try sure you can export ODB++ from CAD tool

    Thank you, Gopinath.

    I have installed the Windows version but I believe there is some problem with the PATH configuration.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled ODB++ then rebooted my system, and still get the same error.

    Best Regards,

    Joe

    Hi Joe,

     you need to map the path in "environmental variables" of your PC (my computer -->properties-->advanced-->environment variables)

    For ex: It needs to add an environment variable ALLEGRO_BRD2ODB = C:\valor\ODB++Inside and a path of %ALLEGRO_BRD2ODB%/nv/bin

    Thank you, Gopinanth.

    From my ODB++  installation I have the following environment variable:

    ALLEGRO_BRD2ODB = C:\MentorGraphics\Allegro Export ODB++

    Path  C:\MentorGraphics\Allegro Export ODB++\nv\bin;%ALLEGRO_BRD2ODB%\nv\bin

    Maybe I need to install to a folder called C:\valor.

    Best Regards,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

    Specific path is not required, the environmental variable only required the file path. Then use \ and / indication correctly, as I mentioned in my previous post. Even if u change the slash symbol as tool wont be active.I think u better understand, what i am trying to say. Better try this sure you can export the ODB++.

    Best & Regards,

    Gopinath Kannan
