link pcb and schematic

Hi All,

I'm using SBP16.5.

Typically at my workplace I'll create a schematic in OrCad CIS and we'll send it out to company X to have a board routed. X then sends the routed board to us for approval. We tell them what we want them to rerout, they send a new board, and it goes back and forth like that until we get a board we can approve. So, my question is......is there an easy way to link the schematic and each new pcb for cross probing? I need to end up linking  the schematic to, say, six boards.......same netlist of course, just different routing. The boards all have unique names. TIA.

Regards,

Bob

Here is what I would do. Keep in mind that I am new with this package and others may have a better way.....

Once you get the board back you will need to re-establish the netlist link between the board and schematic for cross probing. I would do this by regenerating the netlist in Capture and select "open pcb" down in the bottom right of the netlist window. This will make the netlist and open the board file allowing you to cross probe.

You will have to get the path set up to point to the pcb file so Capture can it.

    Hi All,

We still use a 3rd party to layout/fab our boards, but now I would like to know if there is a way to link a schematic and pcb other than generating a netlist from the schematic.  I'm using 16.6-S018. Thanks!
