I created a footprint which supposed to have fillet on it edges.  For some reason I cannot apply fillet to the two of the filled shapes on the footprint.

Can someone help me how to apply fillet to the footprint.

Thanks
Aaron

     Hi Aron

Fillet option is not available in the package symbol(.DRA)..u can follow bellow steps

*Draw the shape of required dimensions in the board file(.BRD)

*Decompose the shape using SHAPE---->Decompose  ,select Class--->ETCH ,SUBCLASS---->TOP in the option tab

*Now try to fillet  using Manifacture------>Dimension--------->Fillet

*After that compose the shape Decompose the shape using SHAPE---->compose  ,select Class--->ETCH ,SUBCLASS---->TOP in the option tab

*Now export the shape as subdrawing....File--->Export--->Subdrawing

*Import the subdrawing  to your Package Symbol (.DRA)

     Regards

    Prashanth

You can apply fillets in the DRA mode.  I do it all the time and just went and double-checked what works.

You CAN NOT apply fillets to rectangles entered using the Place-->>Rectangle command. Fillets apply to lines only.

Use the Dimension-->>Fillet command.  Make sure to set the radius you want in the OPTIONS panel.  If your segments are not long enough to accomodate the fillet the command will not create the fillet and will give an error message at the bottom of the screen.

    Best of Luck,

    Budd

If you need to convert the lines to a shape after you've created the fillet you can do that by using the Shape - Compose Shape command.

Thank you all for the helpful information, I was able to apply fillet on the footprint and now the silk screen looks the way I wanted it.

    Once again thanks.
