Padstack replace not working in package designer OrCAD PCB 16.6

Hello folks,

For some reason, I cannot replace my padstack in an existing package design.  I am using OrCAD PCB Editor 16.6 S012.

Here is what I do:

1. Open the symbol package design (.dra).  Pins are checked in the find window.

2. I click Tools -> Padstack -> Replace, click on the pin I want to replace and the existing padstack name appears in the Old Padstack field of the options window.

3. I then find the new name in the new pulldown menu.

4. I then option-click  in the design window and click Done.

When I hover over the padstack I wanted to replace, the  padstack is still the old name. There was no error message indicated.

The new padstack does exist, is valid, and it is located in the path.  I can add new pins using the new padstack but I cannot replace existing pins.

Has anyone run into this before?

Thanks in advance,

Allan

     Hi Steve,

Thanks!   My problem was that the "Replace" button was hidden due to sizing of the window!  I did not notice that because there is no scroll bar that appears when there are items hidden below the border of the window.  I could not see the button so I did not try to look for it.  Your reply prompted me to try to resize the Options window and voila, there was the button all along!

Oh well!  Thanks for your time helping dummies like me!

     Cheers,

    Allan
