Assigning Options in CIS Config file

Rick T

Greetings everyone....

I will most likely have several questions concerning the CIS Config file over the next week or so.

I am looking to edit the CIS config file to set up the default directory as well as many other options. One of the options I am looking to set up the default for the Grid dispplay options especially pin to pin grid spacing, snapping to grid (master) and grid refrences under the page properties. I have not been able to locate the strings I need to change in the config file. Any help?

Also is there a guide somewhere of what stings are what in the config file?

Thanks ahead of time.

I am currently using Allegro/Cadence 16.5

Look in the "Design Template" section of the INI file, "Pin to Pin" sets the pin spacing, "Grid Ref ..." are the Grid Ref settings. Probably the "best way" is to set the Grid settings that you want through the UI and then use the resulting INI file as a starting point. The Capture INI file settings are part of the capqrc.pdf in the doc\capqrc directory of the installation, this does not cover the Grid settings probably because the UI would be the easiest way to set the requirements.

Thanks... I will look in the ini file for this. Part of the reason for this is that in my office we have several engineers doing schematics and I have been tasked to standardize the library and tools. It seems that many individuals seem to tend to want to place things off grid so I would like to ensure that each time CIS starts the default is to have pointers on grid and paths for libraries set up. It sounds like that while I could do this initially after the individual changes a setting it would also change in their respective config file. While I could make that file a read only that would disable the file/project history.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Also A big thanks to oldmoldy as I have read many of your responses to other questions on here and has been very valuable.
