IPC: side orientation of parts, netlist IPC-D-356

I have two questions on IPC issues.

First: According to IPC where do i have to place the side orientation of parts. BOM? placement file? assembly drawing? or silk screen? and which document specifies this?

Second: According to IPC-D-356 columns 28-31 should contain the pin number. I do have a very large part (2.990 pins) and most of the pins start with a letter - for example Pin "P1234" and "N1234" for a diff. pin pair. So my pin naming is too long for the columns available. any suggestions how to solve this? Renaming all pins is not possible since this naming is used for a lot of documents...

    Hi redwire

sorry for my late response - had some days off...

the part is somewhat special since it is a so called pogo array (landing area for spring contatct pins), so no "real" part. but i think you are right. i should use pin NUMBERS from 0001 to 9999 and the pin NAMES should be the real name. at the moment, it is the same, i guess, and that's what causing troubles here.
