Autorouting Using OrCAD 16.6 Demo Version

I have the demo version of OrCAD 16.6 and I'm currently reading "Complete PCB Design Using OrCAD Capture and PCB Editor" by Kraig Mitzner. I'm stuck halfway through chapter two on the part on autorouting. There doesn't appear to be an autoroute option, or I just can't find it. This book has been great so far, but what am I missing?

Thanks,

Mike

Doesn't anybody know anything about autorouting in the demo version?

    Thanks,

    Mike

The Mitzner book was written form version 16.0. To Auto route now try the folloiwng menu sequence:-

Route - PCB Router - Route Automatic. Depending on your board size you may / may not be able to to this. Look at the c:\cadence\spb_16.6\doc\demoswitch\demoswitch.pdf for limits of the demo version.

PCB Router is not one of the choices in that menu. The menu items are:

    Connect      F3

    Slide     Shift+F3

    Custom Smooth

    --------------------------

    Create Fanout

    Via Structure          >

    Convert Fanout      >

    Delete Fillet

    Gloss Line Parameters

    Unsupported Prototypes    >

Autoroute is not listed within "Unsupported Prototypes" either. It says "Snake Route" within "Unsupported Prototypes" menu.

It doesn't look like I can upload a picture from my desktop in this forum.

    Thanks,

    Mike

EMA got back to me on this issue and they said that the demo version of PCB Editor does not have the auto-router function.
