What is mean by aspect ratio in pcb design?

    Hi Sakthi,

    Aspect ratio is the ratio of board thickness to Smallest via diameter.  

    Example:

    board thickness : 64mils (1.6mm)

    smallest hole : 8mils

    Aspect ratio is : 64/12 =  8:1

    The larger the aspect ratio, the more difficult it is to achieve reliable plating.
