Very Low speed in Allegro PCB

Hi all,

I am a beginner. I have drawn a schematic and created symbols as well. When I want to move components in PCB Editor or do any other modifications I see that software slows down in every step of grid and tries so many times to draw figures and shapes. Below video shows the problem, I am wondering how I can get a better performance and get rid of these all problems. I am using cadance 16.5

For some reason the embedded video does not play but, anyway, you need a graphics card with at least 256MB of dedicated memory and drivers directly from the vendor, rather than just from Windows Update since those rarely include updates to the OpenGL drivers that PCB Editor needs. You would be hard pressed to find a computer that was "slow enough" to affect the PCB Editor performance but, that could be possible, graphics card and drivers is much more likely to be at the root of the problem.

    Hi,

I am so sorry. It seems that after finishing file uplod to youtube, I had deleted it unintentionally and that's why you couldn't play it. Anyway thank you very much for your help. You're right the problem was related to my Graphic card and that it doesn't have proper settings. After downloading proper driver for my Graphic Card and installing it I am easily working with Allegro PCB editor. I could hardly move a component to a specific place as my PC was always busy drawing some lines.

    Thanks a million,

    Hossein
