Importing .brd into Allegro 16.6 FPGA System Planner: how to connect the comonents?

I'm trying to optimize the pin allocation of an existing board. I imported the .brd file into fsp, and checked the Instance Properties of the connector which is connected to the FPGA. There is a group in Group Details, but when I clicked the green arrow in the Connect to Device column, the list is blank. Since in .brd the connector is connected to the FPGA, I'm wondering how I can keep the connections in fsp. I searched online and found a tutorial video at:

www.cadence.com/.../video.aspx

It gives an example of creating an fsp project from scratch, but doesn't show how to import. Can anyone give some advice on this? Are there related tutorials available? Thanks.
