OrCAD Flow Tutorial - Full Adder (Hierarchical Block Cross Reference Error)

Hi everyone, I was going through the OrCAD Capture Tutorial designing the full adder circuit using 2 half adder hierarchical blocks.  My problem is when I try to cross reference the full adder design I get the following errors:

 INFO(ORCAP-1399): Performing Cross Reference.

ERROR(ORCAP-1800): Duplicate Reference: U2A.

ERROR(ORCAP-1800): Duplicate Reference: U1A.

ERROR(ORCAP-1800): Duplicate Reference: U3A.

Basically my issue is that each hierarchical half adder block refer to the same reference designators for the half adder schematic parts. How do I resolve this issue?

Thanks for everyone's help!

For the Annotate stage, use Tools>Annotate, select "Unconditional" and "use Occurences". The PSpice flow will support hierarchical referencing, you will need to override this for the PCB design since "flat" referencing is required.

Thanks...I will give that a try.  After I am done with using PSpice and ready for PCB design what should my Annotation settings change to?

I'm shocked that the OrCAD flow tutorial does not mention select "Unconditional."  I wonder if that is an error in the ORCAD Flow tutorial.  That might need to get fixed.  In the tutorial they say the following:

To assign unique part references to the components in the FULLADD design using the Annotate command, complete the following steps:

    1. In the Project Manger window, select the fulladd.dsn file.
    2. From the Tools drop-down menu, choose Annotate.
    3. In the Packaging tab of the Annotate dialog box, specify Select the Update entire design option button.
    4. In the Actions section select the Incremental reference update option button.
    5. The full adder design is a complex hierarchical design.  So choose the Update Occurence option button.
    6. For the rest of the options, accept default values and click OK to save your settings.
