Set LED color with CIS Database

Hello,

I've already finished the CIS Database for all components we use in our designs, and it works properly.

There is only one pending issue: how to set automatically the LED color depending on LEd reference we're using. I mean, when I place a exact LED reference from our database, I need that the color of the LED must bered, green, or whatever, not the default color (blue).

I see that there are many property types (cost, footprint, etc) when you import from the database, but not color. Any idea for this problem?

Thanks.

Add a "Color" column to your database so then you can pick the correct one. Surely the part numbers would be different for the LED's with different colors so add them in as new line items to the database PN001 - Red LED, PN002 - Green LED etc.

We found that adding "color" to the CIS database caused a conflict with an inherent property in OrCAD.  So what did we do?  We changed the property to "Colour" and it worked.  You can even promote the property onto the silk layer when the LED comes in.
