How to calculate copper area in Allegro PCB?

Hello,

I am new to Cadence and have been trying to figure out how to calculate copper area in Allegro PCB. I have found some solutions for calculating area such as the following SKILL file: https://support.cadence.com/apex/homePage

However, this file and others I have found seem to use graphics editor commands that will only work in Virtuoso. Is there a way to calculate the copper area in Allegro?

 Thank you.

Do you mean for a single shape or all traces/vias/shapes on all layers?

There are several reports that should give you what you need. Try a Tools - Reports - then Film Area Report, Summary Drawing Report, Shape report. If these don't give you what you need you can try a New and then pick the relevant properties to build the required data.

Thank you - the film area report was exactly what I was looking for.
