OrCAD 16.3 PCB Editor User's Interface Setting Problem in windows 7 Operating sytem?

Hi Everyone,

I am new to PCB Editor and just downloaded and installed t the software on my laptop with Windows 7  I am having with the PCB Editor GUI on both Operating System.

Whatever I changed such as Add Line, Place Parts, Add Shape, Move Part,  toggle grid on/off, ect... did not get updated on the board canvas until I hit the  zoom in/out the board. It did not show the dynamic of the process. For example, if I tried to move a part, it did not show the part being attached and moved along with the mouse cursor. I seemed that the part did not moved until I hit the button or the zoom in/out of the board. This is very annoying and irritating to see, since I did not see where the part was moved to.

Another problem was when I hovered the mouse over a part, it supposed to be hightlighted but it did not. Nothing happed.  If I pointed the mouse cursor to an empty area on the board and right click, (while not in any editing mode) a popup menu was supposed to appear but it did not.

I believe this is only a setting issue this I did not know about. Please help me solve this issue. Please!!!

Thanks,

Dhamodharan.

Here are somethings to check. Make sure you are not running the base release. Help>About if it says 16.3 Pxxx it is the base release and you need the Hotfix ISR. Thats the first step. The next thing is it might be a Graphics card issue. I would suggest installing the latest drivers for your graphics card. It might be an OpenGL compatiabilty issue. YOu can test this by disabling the OpenGL in Setup>User Preferences>Display
