Orcad Capture Netlist Error!

Hi everyone,

So I'm new to Orcad and trying to create a netlist to do layout using Allegro PCB Editor. I get the ORCAP-32042 error when trying to make a netlist so I look at the netlist log file and see the following error:

" Error at line 252 in file C:\USERS\RSTARK\DESKTOP\ATLAS/pstxnet.dat. Reference designators inconsistent in xprt and xnet files. Reference Designator in xprt file: C26. Reference Designator in xnet file: C67. Schematic Instance :@atlas.schematic1(sch_1):ins37128943@stratasys.\capacitor non-pol/sm_0603.normal\(chips) (MODULE: ATLAS; PART: CAPACITOR NON-POL/SM_0603).

ERROR(SPCODD-383): Error at line 252 in file C:\USERS\RSTARK\DESKTOP\ATLAS/pstxnet.dat. Error loading the net list file"

So looking in my design C26 and C67 are both 0.1uF caps pulling from the same footprint and part number. When I look at each of their info I don't see any issues.

Is there something I need to change about C26/C67 properties or is there some file I'm missing in my design folder?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check the "Instance" numbers, look for "ins37128943" in the netlist files there will likely be the same instance numbers for the two references. My bet is that this is a design originally from an older version which could assign duplicate instance numbers. If it is just one part, delete one of the parts and place it again and it will be given a unique instance number with 16.6, or you can copy the schematic folders and pages to a new design and 16.6 will assign new instance numbers, either method will correct the issue.

That worked perfectly! I replaced C26 and it gave it a new instance number and then I had no error!

    Thanks for your help. :)
