Package Keepin & Route Keepin subclass fillet or compose

Hi,

I want to compose - or fillet - Package & Route Keepin subclasses. I activate them using shape->select Shape or Void/Cavity and then try composing them using shape->Compose Shape. But it doesn't work. Below are messages I see in command:

Processing the selected segments. For a large number of segments, this may take a few minutes.
Use the "Close Shape" option from the RMB popup to close any shape(s) left open.
A total of 1 shapes were created.
Enter selection point
W- (SPMHA1-233): Package keepin rectangle already exists.

Can anybody tell me weather I can smoth my rectanglesin mentioned subclasses or not?

Thanks in advance,

Hossein

Yes you can but the warning you are seeing is that you already have a Package Keepin. You are only allowed one Package Keepin and one Route Keepin per design. Turn on the relevant layers and delete the Keepin then use Compose Shape to create it. Another method is to draw your board outline (dxf import or whatever) then use Edit - ZCopy to offset the board outline to make a route and package keepin that are contracted from the board outline by a set distance. Much easier than re-drawing it.

    Hi Steve,

Thank you very much for your fast and precise answer. I could create what I wanted. by the way, what do you mean by drawing outline and then importing it? Where can I easily create my board outline?

     Thanks,

    Hossien

Many users will get a board outline from their mechanical team and if you have a similar department they should be able to provide the board outline, keepout areas, tooling holes etc as a DXF, IDF or IDX file which you can just Import from the File menu. It can save you time re-drawing it.
