Footrprint Pin movement in not get moved to certain distance in the(.brd)??

Hi..

I had placed the components on the board for the single side routing. But when i am trying to move the 2 pin from the component the pin is not get moved. So i had tried the other option that, open .dra file---> layout----> Pins----> offset----> certain distance, the pin has offset ed. Then i had saved the the .dra file in the new name, the updated the footrpint name in the schematic component too. When i am trying to place the updated component in the .brd file the file is not get updated, I don't know what the mistake done by me.

still several doubts are

1) How the edit the pad stack pin directly in the footprint after placing the component in the .brd file. (i.e..) (Moving the certain pins to offset)

2) In case some changes made in the schematic means, i update the net list means, how can i import the updated net list file in the .brd file.

3)When i had tried to import net list by  File----> Import---> Logic-----> Design entry CIS---->Import cadence, get updated, but the foorprint file is been not updated in .brd with newly footprint edited.same old FP is been enabled.

So anybody else provide a detailed solution for three problems as mentioned above.. valuable solutions are get more appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

    Hi dhamo,

1.you can edit the pin by using Tool-->pad stack-->Modify Design padstack after editing you need to saving in updated to design you can edit only pad stack (pin) only.you cannot move the pin

2.while generating netlist delete the previous netlist file from the netlist folder

3.check the psm and pad path  for library location (set up-->user preference-->library --->pad path and  psm path)

Try a Place - Update Symbols in the board, pick the Package Symbol you have changed and click on Refresh Symbol Padstacks. That should update the board with the changed footprint.

kabee thank you.. but when ever i update the netlist before that i had removed the net list files in directory. When i do that my entire brd file is get vanished fully and then it's become clear. What are the placements and  settings are also get vanished.

Then from beginning i had start to work the pcb. Any other way to avoid this problem??

    Thanks & Regards
