DRC - Pad to Pad Spacing

How do I turn off pad to pad drc checking so errors do not show up in a symbol / footprint?

I want pad to pad checking ONLY for symbol to symbol, not within a symbol.

Add the "Nodrc_Sym_Same_Pin" property to the Comp, or Symbol, in the PCB, or as a Drawing level property on the DRA file. The DRC will then ignore the Pin to Pin spacing of the symbol.

    Hello,

You can add a property to the symbol called "NODRC_SYM_SAME_PIN" which will eliminate the Pin to Pin DRC errors which are part of the same symbol.  This can be done globally in the Design (.brd) or in the Symbol (.dra)
       - Edit > Property and select Drawing in the Find by Name field then click the More button
       - Select "Drawing Select" to push it to the Selected Objects column
       - Select the NODRC_SYM_SAME_PIN from the list and Click Apply

Setting it in the Symbol will eliminate the Pin to Pin DRC errors between symbol pins (part of the same symbol) when the particular symbol is placed in any design and setting it in the Design will eliminates the Pin to Pin DRC errors between symbol pins (part of the same symbol) on all symbol used in the design.  You can also add the property to an individual symbol in a design.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike Catrambone

Hi Mike,  I recently upgraded to v16.5 and the above feature does not work.  Can you confirm the above or let me know if its working for you still.  Please and thanks.  :)

I am not Mike, but I can confirm it is working in v16.6.  I went through 16.5 a long time ago, but I don't ever remeber it not working.
