Can't do pin swap! please help

Hi,

I have read some posts here as well as below link from Cadance about how to do pin swap.

www.cadence.com/.../customer-support-recommended-pin-swapping-in-allegro-design-entry-cis-and-pcb-editor-flow.aspx

Although I have added PinGroup property to my component pins and gave them a positive value, I still receive below message when I want to swap pins:

Pin is not swappable because the swap code is zero ... pick again.

I looked at pin properties in Cpatre Schematic and saw another property named Swap Id with value -1 that can't be changed!. How can I swap pins?

I am very short of time please help.

Pin Group on the Schematic Library Part Pins is mapped to Swap Id on the Schematic part pins when the part is placed in the schematic, the Swap Id value cannot be edited from within the schematic, it must be maintained from the library part and the Design Cache updated. It sounds like you have not correctly maintained the Pin Group property for the part(s) in the library which is why the Swap Id is -1 in the schematic and pins are therefore not swappable in PCB Editor.

Thanks Oldmouldy, You're right. I used to define PinGroup property for pins?!. :-( When I tried edit part, Package view, Edit Properties I saw that it has itself such a parameter. By giving value of 1 to them I could easily swap them.

    Thanks again;-)
