Allegro Design Entry CIS, "Place Wire" question

Hi,

This has bit me in the b*tt twice already, and I'm not really sure how to "correct" this issue.  In PADS when I started a wire I I couldn't just end it, it had to go somewhere.  I'm using Cadence Allegro Entry CIS and you can place a wire anywhere in the design without pins attached, or you can start a wire at a pin and end it just shy of making a connection to the pin you wanted...

 So my question is... Is there anyway to shut this feature off, so that I cannot place a wire without going to a connections or is this something we have to live with?
