How to learn PCB layout?

HoRangHam

Good Morning All,

I'm currently work as OrCAD Schematic Capture and build Schematic Symbol at work. I don't know anything about the OrCAD/Allegro PCB layout and would like to learn how to do it. I have access to the Allegro software at work to play with. But my company don't want to send me to school or training so I would like to learn my self here.

Let say I have a complete Schematic with pass all the DRC check and have the BOM and Netlist. From here, how do I convert/import the Netlist to Allegro software?

 - What is the first step to lean about this?

- Is there any book, website, tutourial, guide that teach step by step?

Thank you very much and appreciate for all your help.

For your learning option, you can need to download the the pdf "Complete PCB Design Using OrCAD Capture and PCB Editor" BY Kraig mitzner."Complete PCB Design Using OrCAD Capture and PCB Layout". BY Kraig mitzner. The better two are very useful for learning. From the basic things to full process of the PCB design. Another option is try to read the tutorials from link http://www.referencedesigner.com/tutorials/allegro/allegro_page_1.php for PCB editor materials. Thanks & Regards Dhamodharan
