Hi everyone,

i just converted my .max fles (10.5 version)  to .brd files to work on the 16.5 version. After i converted my MAX file to BRD file thru orcad layout translator in 16.5 suite, some shapes, connections and vias are missed in that. And some Clines were changed thier nets. how can i get or convert a exact .max file as .brd file.

 Thanks,

Shreeja

Try a Tools - Database Check, check all boxes and click on Check. Also try a Tools - Derive Connectivity, check both boxes and click OK.

The part would need to be placed in the original OrCAD Layout MAX file for it to be translated into 16.5 PCB Editor. Once you have a translated board file use File - Export - Libraries, specify a location and export the PCB footprints to a directory. These will be the translated libraries from the MAX file.

Once you have a translated board file use File - Export - Libraries, specify a location and export the PCB footprints to a directory. Before exporting the libraries you have to remove the internal layers in the the converted footprints that converted from max to brd conversion. After the removal of the layers, while exporting libraries------> select all the options----> select the foot print directory to export it. Then try to place it in corresponding board file.Same problem me too faced , but now i can try to convert export and resue of libraries from OrCAD Layout 9.2.
