Concept HDL Settings

Thomas J

I'm looking for a way to preserve my ConceptHDL settings (i.e. grid sizes, page border symbol, custom variables, etc..).  During the instantiation of new projects these settings return to default, and I would like to have them persist across all our projects.  Is there a file that I can add/modify to obtain this goal?

Thanks much, Tom

    Hi Tom,

Yes, there is some ways to accomplice this.

It depends if the setting should be able to be changed by the user or if it is a company setting.

First of all you need to define a CDS_SITE location where you have a site.cpm file. In this file you can define settings that should be used by the company.

In this file you can also specify which settings that the user are allowed to change. For the user to be able to change these directives, a user.cpm file with this directive defined, must be placed in their "$HOME/cdssetup/projmgr/" directory.

You can find more information in the document

I hope that this leads you in the right direction.

    Regards,

    Johan

Fantastic response, this is exactly what I was looking for.  I'm now able to set specific administrative settings across our schematic capture, as well as define variables that are allowed to be modified per designer.  Thanks!

This leads me to a follow-up question.  The only variable I'm running into issues with is the variant name <CON_VARIANT_NAME>.  When viewing a variant design, this value is set appropriately.  However, when viewing the base design then the variable itself becomes visible.  Is there a way to set a default value for when this happen?

    Thanks again, Tom
