Is there a way to add images to the silkscreen?  (e.g. company logo)

Yes, but not as straight forward as you might like.  It involves a couple other pieces of software and some SKILL code, but it can be done.  I would take way too long to explain, but there are several entries on this forum regarding this process.  Do a search on adding a logo to a PCB.  Here is one example: http://community.cadence.com/cadence_technology_forums/f/27/p/22622/1337183#1337183

If the logo is simple you can also make a new Mechanical Symbol and use File - Import - Logo to import a bmp file although the results are better if you use the Logomaker skill app that chad mentions.

It sounds too complicated to use the additional software. How does one create a mechanical symbol? I also do not see "logo" under import... using v16.6

Make sure you are in Allegro Package (symbol designer).  It is not available in Allegro PCB Designer.

Okay, in Allegro I did File -> New -> Mechanical Symbol. Then I went to Import -> Logo and selected the .bmp file. When I tried to import, I got this error "Error: Converstion profile for intermediate DXF File not created." What is up with that - does it matter how the .bmp is saved?
